Headaches, Rashes, and Nausea

Do you have unexplained sudden headaches, skin rashes, and or nausea?  It may be a result of your soap or other household products.  It is often the little things that we do on a daily basis that have big consequences or results.  A cupcake daily = +5lbs monthly.  Well, no one wants to talk about that….so let’s talk soap.

If you are experiencing this issues, you may want to check your soap ingredients.

What is included in commercial soap?

 ·         Cocamidopropyl betaine:  a synthetic detergent – known to cause irritations.

·         Mineral oil – refined crude oil

·         Phenoxyethanol – preservative known to cause allergic type reactions

·         Silicones – often prevent oils, dirt, dead skins from being washed away, which cause acne and other skin issues.

·         Surfactant sulfates – sulfur-containing mineral salts

·         Fragrance: can be made up of a mix of more than 3,500 chemicals.

According to EWG.org (a non-profit organization who conducts research on products so that people can make informed choices to live a healthy life), “Fragrance chemicals aren’t benign; exposure to them can lead to a range of health problems. They can disrupt the hormone system. Some are phthalates, which can harm the reproductive system. Another fragrance chemical, styrene, is linked to cancer. And fragrance chemicals can also cause allergic reactions in kids and adults.”    The link to view this article is: https://www.ewg.org/news-insights/news/2023/07/what-fragrance

Homemade Soap

Lalabe’s homemade soap does not contain any of the above mentioned irritants.  Our soap only contains:

·         Olive oil

·         Coconut oil

·         Shea Butter

·         Sunflower oil

·         Castor oil

·         Sodium Hydroxide

·         Essential Oils – oils extracted from herbs (not man-made chemicals)

We intentionally leave out ingredients known to cause irritation, affect the hormones, or cause cancer.  Our world is filled with toxins that we come into contact with daily. The least we can do is try to protect ourselves as much as possible by using a soap daily that is natural and good for our skin.
