Where does this blend of essential oils derive its name? During the time of the Bubonic Plague, also known as the Black Death, there were four thieves who were stealing from the sick and dead. Miraculously, they never contracted this highly contagious disease. Once they were caught, the judge offered them the leniency of being hanged rather than burned alive at the stake if they would tell their secret. They agreed, sharing their herbal and spice knowledge with the judge. Apparently, these men were perfume and spice merchants unemployed due to the plague. They were stealing for income. They would wear long robes, wide brimmed hats, and a mask that appeared to have a beak. The mask was said to contain a mixture of herbs, spices, and essential oils in the beak that they would breath while stealing that kept them safe from breathing in the sickness around them. Ingredients: olive oil, organic coconut oil, shea butter, sunflower oil, castor oil, water, sodium hydroxide, yogurt, clove essential oil, lemon essential oil, cinnamon essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil and rosemary essential oil.
